An Introduction to Environmental Science

Students in Environmental Science will investigate key concepts for the life sciences and the earth and space sciences. The disciplinary core ideas that are investigated during this course include:
- Ecosystems: Interactions, Energy, and Dynamics
- Earth's Systems
- Earth and Human Activity
The performance expectations for high school Environmental Science blend core ideas with scientific and engineering practices and crosscutting concepts to support students in developing usable knowledge that can be applied across the science disciplines.

Descriptions of disciplinary core ideas, crosscutting concepts, and science and engineering practices students are learning throughout their K-12 education.

|
Examples of how to group standards based on common science ideas. Analysis is provided for each grouping of standards and is provided in a manner to support deep understanding of goals and expectations for the teacher and student. Recommendations are not intended to be an exhaustive listing of instructional possibilities.
